Tenkawa Village in Nara Prefecture is home to Tenkawa Daibenten Shrine, a place that has long been said to be accessible only to those called by the gods.
We introduce POST INN, a guesthouse where you can stay like you’re at home, surrounded by breathtaking views of a starry sky, a clear river, and magnificent mountains.

Privacy is also taken into consideration, with features such as auto-locks so that families and women traveling alone can feel safe.

You can stay at a very reasonable price, approximately 5,000 to 6,500 yen per person. We only offer accommodation without meals.
Check-in is from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM / Check-out is at 12:00 PM the next day

The appeal of POST INN as seen through an actual stay

The owner couple renovated the former post office using DIY methods to create a homey atmosphere.

The cafe and bar, made of solid cypress wood, is a relaxing space that blends seamlessly into the local community.

POST INN is located at the entrance to Tenkawa Village.

It is located near the entrance to Tenkawa Village, Yoshino District, Nara Prefecture. The nearest station is Shimoichiguchi Station on the Kintetsu Yoshino Line, and you can get off at the Tenkawa Kawai bus stop, where two bus lines meet, and it is about a one-minute walk from there, so it is a relatively convenient location for transportation access. If you are coming by car, take National Route 309 into Tenkawa Village, turn right at the first traffic light, and it is just a short walk from there.

Well-equipped and comfortable

There are 4 rooms in total: an auto-lock private room, 2 single rooms, and 2 twin rooms (maximum capacity 6 people). All rooms are air-conditioned and have free Wi-Fi. Facilities include shared showers, toilets, washing machines, and dryers. This is a lodging-only accommodation only, and meals are not included.

6 things to try when you stay at POST INN!

天河弁財天

Tenkawa Daibenzaitensha
It is said that only those called by the gods can enter this shrine. It is a quiet and charming place with deep religious and historical significance.

Raigoin
This temple is associated with Tenkawa Dai-Benzaiten Shrine and is home to a large ginkgo tree over 700 years old, historic Buddhist statues including a standing Thousand-Armed Kannon statue, and is a place where the changing nature of the seasons and the deep prayers of esoteric Buddhism come to life.

Ryusenji Temple
Located at the gateway to climbing Mount Omine, the pure water that springs from the “Dragon’s Mouth” and the tranquil atmosphere of the historic mountain temple make this a power spot of healing and purification that attracts many worshippers and ascetics.

Menfudo Cave
The clear air and fantastically lit interior make this limestone cave cool and refreshing even in the middle of summer, allowing you to experience the mysteries and healing powers of nature.

Mitarai Valley
A natural valley with large and small waterfalls, oddly shaped rocks, and a suspension bridge. Hiking trails are also available.

Dorogawa Onsen
A historic hot spring town with hot spring inns and walking paths where you can enjoy the atmosphere while walking.

What I noticed after staying in Tenkawa Village
・There are few streetlights, so it’s a good idea to bring a flashlight or smartphone light when walking.
・There are no convenience stores in the village, so you can buy your supplies in advance around Shimoichiguchi Station or in Kashihara City.
・Generally, the store is closed at night, so please check the opening hours in advance.
・It gets colder in the mornings and evenings
・There are many wild animals spotted in the village and on the way there, so drive carefully

When staying in Tenkawa Village, if you prepare three things – time, food, and temperature difference – you will be able to fully experience the tranquility and beauty of nature.

Finally, POST INN in Tenkawa Village is a place where you can spend time as close to everyday life as possible, suitable for any trip.

If you’re unsure where to stay in Tenkawa Village or the surrounding area, you can’t go wrong with POST INN.

We hope you have a wonderful trip.
